The article “Future Moves: Forward-oriented Studies of Culture, Society, and Technology” by Markus S. Schulz is forthcoming in the ISA journal Current Sociology’s OnlineFirst on December 19, 2014. This article introduces the monograph on Future Moves, which will appear in print by March 2015. It discusses sociology’s re-emerging concern for the future and the general approach on which the contributors converge despite diverse theoretical provenances, thematic focuses, and social settings. It explains how the studies in this publication contribute to the strengthening of a future-oriented sociology and studies of culture, society and technology.
